Terms of use in English

Agree to the Terms of Use of Digicampus.fi

These Terms of Use will become legally binding between Mediamaisteri Oy and the user of the DigiCampus.fi Learning Management System (hereinafter LMS) upon your acceptance of the terms in the DigiCampus.fi LMS. The user must read the terms carefully before using the DigiCampus.fi LMS.

LMS

• The DigiCampus.fi LMS is maintained by Mediamaisteri Oy and built on the Moodle platform for Finnish universities.
• The service window is the third Monday of each month from 7 am to 8 am, which is communicated through both the LMS and the DC-help support portal.
• The LMS is being developed in collaboration with the universities that use it.
• The DigiCampus.fi LMS is owned by Mediamasteri Oy and its partners and licensors.
• No videos are recorded in the DigiCampus.fi LMS to safeguard the environment. For the time being, each user records their videos to their own universities video recording system.

Support

 

• The DigiCampus project provides pedagogical and digital user support to users of the environment.
• Support channels include:
  • DC-help support portal
  • chat icon is located in the bottom right corner of each page
  • Email (support@digicampus.fi ) and
  • Phone +358 9 4255 0555
• The teacher using the environment is committed to providing content support to the students in his / her course.

Courses and materials

• The DigiCampus.fi LMS can provide both open and restricted courses and materials for a specific user group.
• Except if otherwise agreed, the copyright for the material produced in the DigiCampus.fi LMS remains with the producer/author.
• You do not have the right to copy, record or redistribute the material in the DigiCampus.fi LMS, unless permitted by the license for the material.
• Only materials that are sufficiently licensed or owned by the uploader may be uploaded to the DigiCampus.fi LMS.
• Material that is confidential, such as personal information and business or professional secrets, may not be uploaded to the DigiCampus.fi LMS.

Warranty

DigiCampus.fi LMS user accepts these terms and conditions, when approving to the terms of use Mediamaisteri Oy does not give any guarantee for the  DigiCampus.fi LMS or in the material or its suitability for a particular purpose, or that the LMS DigiCampus.fi materials infringe any third party rights. Mediamaisteri Oy does not warrant that the DigiCampus.fi LMS will function uninterrupted or error free.

Limitation of Liability

Mediamaisteri Oy is not responsible for the quality of any damage, whether direct or indirect, resulting from the use of the DigiCampus.fi learning platform or from the total or partial blocking of the use of the DigiCampus.fi learning platform. Mediamaisteri Oy is not responsible for any content uploaded by users to the DigiCampus.fi LMS.

Validity of Terms of Use

These terms and conditions apply until further notice. Mediamaisteri Oy reserves the right to make changes to these Terms of Use at any time.

Applicable law and jurisdiction

These Terms of Use is governed by Finnish law. Any dispute arising out of the Terms of Use shall be the subject of consultations between the parties. Unless otherwise agreed by the parties within sixty (60) days of the commencement of the negotiations, the matter shall be referred to the Tampere District Court, unless otherwise provided by mandatory law. If there is a discrepancy between the original and the English translation it is the Finnish original that is legally binding.
