This course provides students with an exploration of sustainable health technologies, offering diverse perspectives and insights. Students will gain an understanding of the health sector's carbon footprint and explore innovative technologies aimed at addressing climate change challenges. Emphasizing responsible practices, we consider the impact of overdiagnosis and overtreatment. Additionally, students will learn about sustainability throughout the lifecycle of medical devices, from design to refurbishment and recycling. The course also highlights specific limitations unique to the healthcare sector in terms of sustainability and technological advancement.
