General objective: The learner will be introduced to:
- key terms, processes and chemicals used in sustainable leather production, as well as new tanning processes for leather production,
- applying safety and preventive measures when handling chemicals in the leather production processes, based on EU criteria, BAT and the Industrial Emission Directive
- appropriate physico-chemical methods to assess efficiency of innovative processes according to specific standards or methodologies.
