GENERAL OBJECTIVE

The learner will be introduced to:

·        normative acts and certification frameworks in textiles, types of standards (voluntary, mandatory, international, national) relevant to textiles

·        global and EU policies for sustainable and circular textile practices (EU Green Deal components and EU strategy for sustainable textiles)

·        Key international standards: ISO 14001, ISO 9001, ISO 50001, ISO 59000 series and compare ISO 14001 and 50001 and application possibilities of textile application of ISO 59000 series

·        Environmental directives (REACH, Waste Framework Directive, Ecodesign for Sustainable Products Regulation)

·        EU Ecolabel and Environmental Product Declarations (EPD) in textiles. Circular economy action plan and its impact on textile regulations. LCA (Life Cycle Assessment) methodology and its role in regulation compliance

·        New regulatory trends: Digital Product Passport (DPP), Green Claims Regulation and Traceability Systems
