Learning methods and duration: Approximately 25 hours (5 hours lectures, 18 hours Exercises/ Individual study/ Project Works, 1 hour video experience, 1 hour assesment)

Assessment methods:

  • Initial assesment (quiz)

  • Formative assessment (quizzes and activities)

  • Summative assessment (project work of case studies in groups and assignments)

General objective: The learner will be introduced to:

  • Design and manage sustainable supply chains and implement green procurement strategies to source environmentally friendly textiles and clothing. 

  • Apply “Rs” principles in the textile process chain to promote sustainability. 

  • Analyse and improve textile and clothing supply chains from environmental perspective

  • Apply circular design principles to develop sustainable textile and apparel products that minimise environmental and social impacts.

Knowledge

After the completion of this module, learners will:

  • Describe the structure and functions of textile and clothing distribution chains within a sustainable framework.
  • Explain green procurement principles and their role in sourcing in the value chain of environmentally friendly textiles and clothing.
  • Recognize the impact of distribution chains on environmental and social sustainability.
  • Explain circular design principles and their integration into supply chain strategies.
