Entry requirements and target group:
- Basic knowledge in biosciences (120 sp of BSc studies)
- 3rd year BSc students and MSc students.
After passing this course, you are expected to:
- be familiar with the concepts of entrepreneurship and innovation within the bioscience, biomedicine and pharmaceutical fields
- have obtained a practical view of the steps from initial innovation idea to launching the final product
- have a better understanding of the skills required for working life in the industry
- have developed your ability to apply theoretical knowledge to problem-solving
- have developed your project management skills
Contents:
This course covers the following topics:
- Introduction to innovation
- Defining a problem
- Idea generation
- Idea conceptualization and testing
- Pitching
- Commercialization and strategy development
Modes of study:
Online video-lectures, videos and written
material for theory, self-correcting quizzes, group work, oral
presentation (pitch), written project report
Teaching language: English
Evaluation and evaluation criteria: Grade (1-5) consists of approved Self-correcting quizzes (20%), Pitch videos (30%) and Final project report (50%).
