Working with Diversity explores the importance of recognising and working with diversity in professional practice in community, organisational and political contexts. This involves an understanding of theoretical concepts related to diversity including equality, human rights, discrimination and oppression, power, and resistance. It is also an opportunity to reflect upon your own diversity, and the concept of European equality, rights, and citizenship. The topics will be taught using current topics and examples reflecting global social issues. The course provides an opportunity for students to design and implement a project that actively promotes awareness of diversity. You will be expected to work in small groups to undertake a small-scale diversity project (Living Innovation Laboratory) with students from different European countries and disciplines. You will be are encouraged to comply with ethical principles and consult with key community stakeholders and experts by experience in the planning and delivery of your project.
