5513526 Global Perspectives in Social Work (5 ECTS)
Students will apply critical global perspectives to professional social work education, practice theory and research. They will become familiar with the impact of global social and environmental issues such as racism, populism, power and privilege, climate change, migration and indigenous cultures on local, national and transnational social work practices.
Students will gain knowledge of international legislation, welfare models, organizations, and conventions to address issues of social justice and human rights. They will have an appreciation of diverse historical and theoretical traditions in international social work and the relevance of critical intercultural competence in practice and comparative analysis in research.
